Could anyone tell me if this remote control works for a 1996 C280 Sports Package?

It comes from a Mercedes ML, don't know what year though.

Your suggestions would be great!!!

By the way, does anyone knows of a good used auto parts store/junkyard in the Miami/Ft Lauderdale area?

Nope won't work. The remote controls are unique to the car. Even one from another C280 won't work.
