300E water pump replacement using snap on tool ?

Ok...Let me make sure I got this correct. I have just ordered the snap on tool part # FLXM13 for replacing the water pump the easiest way.

I start by removing the pulley then the serp. belt. Then use my new tool for getting the 3 bolts off and then remove the tensioner shock so that the 6mm allen bolt on the bottom is accesable. Then remove and roll out the water pump. Do I have this correct. Thanks. :)

MB,

It has been noted not to add sealant of any kind to the O-ring but to apply a little grease to hold it in place while you install it. What kind of grease do I use? and should I place it around the entire seal or just in a few spots to hold it ? Thanks again, the reason I ask is my WP came with instructions (go figure) and they say to add sealant. While I honor the instruction of the posters here more than I do the manufacturers instructions I just want to make sure this thing doesn't leak after all that work. :)
