When I had my oil changed, the tech noted what appears to be a small crack in the timing chain cover that is causing a small oil leak (measured in drops per day). Have you see this before and is this a major/minor repair?

No I haven't ever seen this before. I wonder what caused it? Be sure not to have the surface problem fixed, if something caused this it should be fixed as well.
