Read brake pads
I have a 98 E430 Sport. I need to do the brakes and I see that there are single and double pin pads choices on Fastlane. Any ideas on which one's I should order without pulling the tires to see.
Thanks

You have to check your vehicle ID brake pad with two pins vehicle ID # is up to A379346 brake pad with one pin is from A379347 or just like you says take the tire off.

Hi Ken,
Look at the last 7 Alpha-numerical of your car VIN. For E class with VIN up to A379346, it uses 2 retaining pins, for VIN A379347 and later, it uses one retaining pin. My E430 is 2000 and the last 7 VIN is B104087, so that it needs 1 Retaning pin. Hope this will help you buy the correct rear pad. Have a nice day. |

Looks like a single pin to me. I have 52K on mine and pads are still less than 1/2 worn.
