w124 auto window switch question...
hey everyone...(tech people especially)...
i have a 300CE coupe...and i noticed that the front window switches have a little extra click to make the windows go down automatically...i was wondering if i replaced the rear window switches with the same "front" window switches, would this allow me to have auto "down" push button's for the rear just like the front? please let me know thanks rich

Sorry Rich, you're out of luck. The "Auto Down" feature is a function of the Convenience Control Module. The second detent on the switch simply tells the CCM to run the windows all the way down. The CCM also allows you to close ALL the windows as well as the sunroof by holding the key in the "lock" position from either door or the trunk. Try it and see if it works if you haven't already. Take it easy.

drat!
would getting that feature onto my car be a simple CCM swap with a newer year w124? along with getting two more "detent" switches?

I suppose anything is possible, but you're car doesn't have the wiring in place for this. My guess is that the switches won't fit the connectors at the center console either, due to a different pin configuration. Like I said, anything is possible if you want it bad enough($$$$$$).
