Cool For Anyone Who Has Clear Corners....

Osram has this nifty light bulb that gets rid of that Orange bulb in your clear corner lights. The cool thing is that when not lit it is translucent, but once lit it has the amber color required by law. Best of both worlds!

Heres the link:

I've seen them for $22.00/Set

Afshin if I remember correctly the problem with this bulb is that they only come in the single filament style. So they won't work on US clear corners. I can't understand why they don't make them double filament afterall there is a market for those

I can't believe that! I figured since Sylvania makes the dual filament bulbs they would make these as well. I think I'll email them to find out if one exists or is in the making. Thanks for pointing that out.

there is a silver colored amber light bulb you can get at pep boys - "titanium" brand. costs $6 and it comes in 1157. you can get the osram in double filament but you still have to file it down or something to make it fit...

Yal,

I just gave Sylvania a call, here's what they said.

Currently the light is only available in a single filament designed for the European market. They then proceeded to say that a dual filament bulb would be available by September of this year for the North American Market!

So I guess I jumped the gun on this post.

Afshin,
If you find a source for these and they fit in your 500e then please let me know. I would definitely be interested.

In the mean time, a very light spray coat of silver paint will work just as well on an orange dual filament bulb.
