PIAA H1/H7 Bulbs

Greetings,

Anyone know a good source for PIAA H1/H7 (Extreme White)?
I believe PIAA's part numbers are: (H1: H-214, H7: H-218)
I tried to order the bulbs from several on-line stores to no avail.
They never have them in stock and I don't want to tie up a deposit on my credit card waiting for them to finally arrive.

My eyes ain't what they used to be, and with the deer we have
around here, I can't see them soon enough when I drive at night.

Any help locating a good, reliable source for the PIAA's would be greatly appreciated, I prefer the PIAA's as I used them before.
unfortunately, my original source no longer supplies them.

Sylvania Silverstars are better than any PIAA's I've seen so far. Check eBay if you really want to stick with them...

Thanks for the info Speedy, the only problem is Sylvania doesn't
make a Silverstar version of either the H1 or H7.

It is beyond me why aftermarket manufacturering community
does not produce these bulbs. Both my car and motorcycle use these bulbs.

If anyone has any recommendations as to a good soource and brand of high output H1 & H7 bulbs, I am all ears (and eyes).

I am very happy with the Philips Vision Plus bulbs (+50 output for same wattage - search the archives on this one). They can be ordered through www.powerbulbs.com in H1 and H7.

Well, it looks like I made a mistake, seems that Sylvania does make a Silverstar H7 (saw it on the Powerbulbs.com site).
My bad, sorry 'bout that.
I ordered a set of the Phillips Vision Plus bulbs.
I'll let everyone know what I think of them.

I have spent some money on PIAA H4 bulbs in the past and found they combine high price with short life. No more. Although I have always been very skeptical of the exaggerated claims of the bulb manufacturers, I decided to buy a pair of Silverstar 9006's for the foglights in my '01 C320. Unlike the high mounted fogs in my previous W202, (and 123 and 201's) the W203 fogs are small in diameter and mounted at the bottom of the spoiler and as a result put very little light out where you want it. But, much to my amazement, the Silverstars, rated at 55W just like the originals, are noticeably brighter and very white. Despite their cost, I think there is quite an improvement. I am satisfied.

I also just installed a pair of 70W H7s in the high beams. I had intended to increase the fuse size but find that all exterior lighting is "electronically fused." So, I'll just have to see if the circuit breaker notices the extra amperage. Or not. BTW, I bought the H7s from JC Whitney, three for nineteen bucks. Such a deal. They sell several variations of H7s.

An ongoing research project (so far) is to convert my Xenon headllghts to the 2003 Bi-Xenons. This won't be cheap, at about $1500 for the two assemblies, but I can't find out if the wiring harnesses and plugs are the same. No one at the dealer knows and even examining the parts microfiche is not much help. I need to corner the factory rep but haven't seen him of late. This will take longer that I anticipated.

I previously used PIAA "Super Whites" 9005 & 9006
in my BMW 540 and found them to be quite good.
I also had issues with longevity.

Don't hate me but I do miss that car...
