Distronic; Can I install it in a 95 c280?

Hi,
I could not find this question or discussion anywhere, so here goes (the title says it all).
Can it be done? Can I install the distronic option on my mb?

David

No.

But then anything is possible, Buy a new 220 car and start by taking the hood badge from the 280 and install. Pretty simple huh!

It can be hard thought to just disregard, but trust us, it'd be nothing short of a MISTAKE!

My 2 cents.

I told you how to do it. It will be easier to just move the 280 parts to the 220. That picture which showed the interrelation of the control units just scratches the serface. Each of those control units will need the rest of their systems also. The cost of parts would easily be more than the 220 car totally.

There may eventually be people that make a stand alone version but MB's enters the cars network where such things as vehicle speed are gathered and then shared with multiple controllers. This multiplexing allows the various data to be digested my many controllers and shared saving space and wiring.
