I tried to start my car with the charger attached. Now my car won't fire.
My 450sl has been sitting since about November. I hooked my battery charger up to it and forgot it was still attached(Battery in the trunk) I tried to start and nothing. I read in my manual this would fry ignition components. So I put a new ignition module, ballast resistors and coil on. Still the car won't start. Is there any relay or other part I may also need to change? Very expensive oops.

Does the starter even click. Do all the lights come on. Before you do anything else take the battery out and have it tested. It could be the battery is not holding a charge.

Are you getting a spark to the spark plugs, also is your fuel pump running should run for a a few secs before you crank.
