Question 94 C280 CD changer

I just bought a USA SPEC CD changer for a 94 C280 from Crutchfield that is supposedly plug and play. The car has the Bose system pre-wired (supposedly!) for the CD changer. I searched other similar threads that mention the location of the connector, but no real description of the connector. I have found an open square connector with three wires behind the passenger side trunk wall, but the manual and the wiring harness supplied with the changer requires a 10 pin rectangular connector. Crutchfield tech assistance was not very helpful. Does anyone know any details on the MB stock connector? Do I need another adaptor? Has anyone had any experience with USA SPEC CD changer?
