300E center vent thumb wheel giving me a fit
My center vent thumb wheel bulb was out so if figured it would be easy to replace. It was easy to remove the center vent, two clips on the left side and one screw on the right. The new bulb went in fine. But getting the center vent thumb wheel to lock back into the vent assembly is a bit of a problem as it is attached to the vent flap. I can't get it to lock back into the vent assembly once the vent is snapped back into the dash. I have tried pulling it back into place with a wire with a hook on the end, pulling towards me from the back of the wheel but the darned thing won't snap in! Is there a better (or correct) way to do this that I don't know about?
Thanks in advance. |

You're supposed to undo the linkage by poking an allen key through the vent and unscrewing it. The wheel should then come out with the vent.

Thanks Mick, I knew there had to be an easier way. I will give it a go.
