1996 C220 Moonroof Sunsheild Question
Hello,
I couldn't bring anything up on a search for what I'm looking for...maybe someone could help me. The sliding moonroof shield has some plastic louvers in it and I need to remove them to refasten the liner. I used too strong a vacuum while cleaning the interior and it sucked the liner out from under the louvers! I can't see where they pry off or "snap" off...and I don't want to break them since the car is showroom new looking...wanna keep everything in good condition. Any ideas on how they are removed to reglue the liner? Thanks! I'll post a pic of my C220 soon...just took a few great pics. Just turned 80K miles, and it still runs awesome...no leaks or unusual noises whatsoever. |

louvres in sunroof
Randy:
I can tell you the louvres are attached along the long sides with a plastic lip that runs the length of the vent. I'm trying to find out how to reinstall them as I took them out to clean them. If you gently pry down on the center of the short end and pull/ slide the vent out, it should come out without too much trouble. If you figure out how to get them back in, please let me know. Got them back on. Fit one side first and CAREFULLY bend it at the middle as you push the other side in. This is done with the shade removed from the car. I could not find a way to do it while in the car.
