Heat/AC interior Blower motor Brushes

My 87' 300E AC-Heater Blower motor has completely stopped working. I wondered if anyone has repaired these blowers by replacing the brushes. I had fabricated electric motor brushes years ago by sanding down a larger pair to fit the slot size and shape of the interior blower on a BMW
At this point I don't yet know for sure that brushes are what is needed, but was hoping that someone else knew if brushes worn out in high mileage MB's (192K)

I looked in a few part sources including Fastlane , but did'nt see brushes listed---just high dollar motor assemblies, with and without fans.

any help appreciated.
