Smile 89-300CE - What kind of Transmission Fluid do you use?

I was just wondering what type of Transmission fluid "the majority" uses. OEM and "other manufacturers / brands.

I switched to Mobil 1 synthetic at 110,000 miles just to try to get as much life out of my transmission as possible. Synthetics allow transmissions to run a bit cooler, I've heard.

Ditto mbshop. I see you've been doing this for 30 yrs. Thanks for taking time to help the diyer community.

Havoline Dexron-III changed every 15,000 miles + new Mann filter and pan gasket that you do not want to over-tighten.

Synthetic for new cars....maybe??

Older ones....work just fine on the older stuff and frequent changes, be it oil, dexron, 80w-90, etc.

Thanks !

Thanks for the response. I too still beleive that the "regular" / "plain old" transmission fluid, when changed at regular intervals is fine. THis being my 1st MB, I just wanted to get an idea if anyone was using a particular brand.
