Replacing A/C Hose 1986 300E?
Hi,
It has been determined that my A/C low suction hose has a leak and i need to have it rebuilt. Does anyone have any ideas on how to remove it. I can access the big nut at the top, but i am not sure how to proceed removing it from the compressor side. I tried the search function and could not find any info. Thanks, Doug 1986 300E 248k |

Going on memory, but I think both sides connect to the compressor at a common joint sealed by o-rings with a plate and a bolt.

If it's anything like the 1987 300D, all I can say is "good luck". It's a very unpleasant job as the hose assembly is a 3D jigsaw puzzle to snake in & out... NOT fun. Took me 2-3 hours last time; I've done this twice now. At least it's a lot cheaper to rebuild than to buy a new one (~$75 vs. ~$400!)
