Benzmac, I finally got my repair manual in the mail. It say when removing the head, both exhaust and intake manifolds should be left on the head. I've already removed the exhaust, and by the look of it, it looks like it might be easier to remove the intake in place rather than disconnect many, many lines, plugs, etc. Is there a reason for not taking the intake off before removing the hea. It doesn't indicate in the book. (UK version of Haynes MB Repair manual, fairly good text, but the British idioms are interesting to figure out. It looks like I can unbolt the intake in the car. Any suggestions or expert advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
