While trying to fix a vacuum leak today on 82 300SD I discovered that both of the footwell flaps are broken. The shafts with the gears on them are sheared, are the flaps and gears available? Also how much of the dash and heatrer box must be removed to access them? Of course the vacuum switches for the footwell and fresh air flaps are leaking as well but I think that new diaphrams are available to repair these.

I have done this and it is a hard job. You have to take out the box to do it correctly. IE many hours of removal. I have though, taken my time and managed to squeaze one in on the left side although it took about 4 hours.

The parts are available and are updated. You get the flaps seperately and the linkage comes in a kit.

Thanks, You are not kidding. I just spent all day removing the dash in hopes that the parts are available, also it makes getting the fresh air vacuum elements a lot easier to remove. Tomorrow I am going to tackle the heater box. Do you have the flaps and linkage available?

thanks

Robert

Submit a Parts Information Request in PartsShop and we'll see if we have the parts.
