rear differential for 190E

It looks like I will have to shop around for a new differential.

I'm wodering if any other models have one that I could use on my 190E without any conversions.

possibly part numbers would help, I'll be calling the scrap yard tomorrow.

Is a rebuild possible? is it just better to get a used one?

xp

swish swish swish swish....

it's making a thumping noise, well thumping, it sounds like two things rubbing against each other somewhere every time the wheels make a full roatation. It's not a metalic sound, nor a bearing sound, bearings make a chirping sound.

I thought it might be one of the wheel bearings but they are solid. Then I tought it might be the breakes, I had them rolled and still it's doing it.

I'm going crazy, thing is the differential has no play in it at all, it looks very solid, but it leaks a bit. I think it is a used one that was put in by a PO.

I can't figure it out, but I want to gather some info on what my options are.
