Here's the scenario: I was having major carb problems and just had it rebuilt. It works O.K. now except I noticed that occasionally I'd get a "hiccup" or basically the car would lose power for a split second and then continue as normal. Sometimes it would do it twice. I ignored it thinking I'll tell my mechanic when next I see him.

Unfortunately, the problem seems to be getting worse. Today, it was doing it all the way home on lunch and I'm now beginning to worry.

I'll replace the spark plugs and change the oil on the weekend as they are both due, but I was wondering if this might be the choke or some other problem I haven't considered.

Thanks in advance for your help, you guys have been a great source of information!

This could be many things. Have you put the engine on a scope? I would. The spark may not be getting to the plugs all of the time.

Hmm, I think I have stubled upon the solution (at least the car is running smoothly for now) Since adding a bottle of gas line antifreeze two days ago, the "hiccuping" has stopped. Potentially there was something stuck or frozen in the lines.
