The tail end of my Benz was dragging because the hydraulic leveling system was not working. No one seems to know repair or maint. inf. So, I open the bleed screw near the back and out shot air and foamy fluid. I drained it down completely, the resevoir was full, but the shocks did not pump up. Does anyone know the procedure to bleed and refill. Where can I find the tech data for the maintaince and repair of the system. Thanks to anyone who can help.

I'm sorry I don't know the bleed and refill procedure, but I have experienced similar problems with the leveling system on a couple of 300DT's. I fixed it perfectly by adjusting the actuator lever attached to the control valve and linked to the rear suspension. Just loosen the lock and move the lever until it's at the height you wish.
I would expect that if you filled the reservoir, and kept it full, normal driving would eventually bleed it. Good Luck |

These systems will self bleed. You may have a faulty control valve. You should either take to the dealer, or guess at what is wrong. The foam can be from the nitrogen cells collapsing.
