Sunroof not working 88 560sel

I have a 1988 560sel 102,000. The sunroof was stuck. I was able to push it back while I was pressing the button. The drivers side is ok. The pass. side is not moving with the motor.

It closed slow but will not open by itself.

The plastic clips on pass. side are broken.

How do you check if the cable is broken?

I am going to take it apart next week. Can anyone give me any hints?

PS-First time I had the sunroof open. It was great.

Thank you

Nick Mendoza

Sunroof Problem

If I remember correctly the Motor has an adjustable Clutch fitted to it.

However you will need to make sure that the roof can run freely in the tracks or you will be back where you are now fairly quickly with clutch wear if it keeps binding.
