w210 battery - E300 - how to get to it?

I understand that the battery in this car is under the rear seat. How do I remove the seat to check the water level in the battery? This is a 1998.

Real easy. Take a look where the seat bench meets the carpet ( kinda' near where your ankles would be if you were sitting in the back seat with your feet flat on the floor ). Near the outer edge on either side you'll find the release points. Just reach in with two fingers and pull up to release the locks. It takes about two minutes max, no tools required. Make sure the battery vent hose is properly routed to the outside of the car while you're there.
