I am looking for recommendations for a quality upholsterer to replace my windows in my 1978 450 SL. My top is in excellent shape, but the windows aren’t, so I don’t want to have to replace the entire soft top. Living in a small town, there isn’t anybody I would trust with the job (they wanted to sew the new window in over the old, and then cut out the old). I don’t mind sending the top out, so location isn’t a problem.

I also wanted to have just the windows replaced on my SL top but none of the upholstery shops would even talk about it. So....I ended up buying another top. Good luck on your search for a shop that will do just the windows.
