One for the gurus:

I've just filled the tank on my 97 S320 and about five minutes later it developed a VERY rough idle with traces of blue smoke which becomes heavy when accelerating away from a stop. Outside of idle range everything operated normally.

After about five miles of this everything has returned to normal. Ideas? Should I expect it to occur again?

Just a thought because I've seen this before you didn't put deisel fuel in it did you?
