Oil change - priming engine

The DIY above says to prime the engine after an oil change. Is this necessary on my 300SE? If so how do you do it safely? I used to pull the ignition coil wire off my old beetle to prime it, but I dont think this is an acceptable method for a W140 300SE.

What happens if you dont prime it? My oil pressure went up immediately after I started it. More about that in another post.

You dont have to prime the motor after an oil change, the only reason people with the old v8's do is cause they have a weak tensioner or a stretched chain and they are scared it will jump timing. Change oil like usual and dont worry about priming.
