"2 man" bleeding works fine
 

Whilst my wife hates it (she says she gets a sore leg - at least she is the one in the comfortable seat not under the car!), I have always used the 2 man (or I guess that should be 2 person) to change brake fluid. I have even had success with this method for bleeding air from the system including those with ABS. My wife can follow "down" and "up" just fine. Just don't ask her to do anything that involves left or right!
