'93 300CE CV - Driver seat belt

Hey there everyone!

I just scored on my dream car! Now to tidy up some minor details.

The driver side seat belt appears to have gotten caught in the door latch mechanism at some point - there's a "bite" out of the side of the belt. This causes the belt to become stuck in the retractor mechanism in the door pillar (coming out and going back in). I've temporarily trimmed the frayed edge with a sharp scissors and mended it with cloth surgical tape. So far, OK (gosh, it's been one entire day!!).
The correct fix is to replace the belt. Plain and simple. HERE'S THE QUESTION.

Can I just buy / replace the belt or does the whole thing have to be purchased as an assembly? Will one from a hardtop coupe' work or is the one in the cabriolet unique?

Anyone got any ideas about where to buy a used one? Mine is black.
