ABS dash lite comes on and engine speed increases?

Why does occassionally the ABS dash light come on, suddenly the motor races and will stay up until I turn off the engine and restart, then the ABS light is off and the engine runs normal again.

It's a 1989 S420 SEL

Thanks

ABS light and high revs

I have the same problem. Anyone out there who can shed some light on it?

Thanks in advance.

I believe, as on our W201, that both ABS and engine management computers are powered through the OVP relay. Bad contacts in this would be my guess as to the cause.

OVP relay question

My OVP relay is part # 201 540 38 45 and has 5 poles with (1) 10 amp fuse.

Fast lane shows #P2056-18126 and it has 6 poles and (2) fuses.

Anyone got a handle on which one is correct for a 90 300se?

Classic OVP, The new part does indeed have 2 fuses.
