Oil Changes
Im about to do oil/filter for the 1st time on a 96 W202 C250 diesel. On previous cars I always filled the filter full of fresh oil before I fitted it, to help get the oil pressure up quickly. This doesnt seem to be possible on the 605 engine (the filter sits up above the engine). What if I drained the oil cold, then when I start up,dont wait for the glow plugs to heat. This should allow a few turns of the crank before it starts, allowing more time for the oil pressure to build up. Am I being over careful, or sensible?.
