r-12 Vendors?

Looking for a good deal on some r-12.

The online vendors that rank high in my search engine appear to be charging above market prices, based upon some market surveys I was reading. A couple of local vendors were even worse.

If anyone has located a good deal from a mailorder/online vendor, or perhaps a 'bricks and mortar' vendor in the greater Boston area, do let me know.
Thanks.

ebay is probably as good as any. You will need a 609 regardless of your source.

Good luck,

I quickly checked the recently completed auctions on Ebay and prices ranged from $415 - $600 for 30lb containers of R-12. Some of these include shipping, some will require an additional $50 S&H.

I like to scan http://www.refrigerantsales.com for quick pricing checks. Last I looked, they were offering R-12 at $655, shipping included.

Now you know why everyone is charging with hydrocarbons No, I'm just kidding, I don't want to start that discussion again, I didn't even bring it up, let's not talk about it.....

Jim,

I think he is looking for a smaller quantity. I've seen cans go for as low as $15 each on ebay.

I can go to NAPA locally and buy cans for $29. This is with 609 of course.

Have a great day,

609 is a certification issued after a test (easy). It is needed for buying certain EPA listed refrigerants. See here for test: http://www.epatest.com/

Nothing to be concerned about in B.C.

I'm sure you have your own special Montreal Protocol derived regulations.
Wait a minute, can we blame you for that?

For larger quantities I believe that recycled R-12 is sold as well. I was told this can be inferior to the new stuff.
