Replace only the defective one! They should last the life of the car BY design.

Mass Air Sensors....Replace in pairs?
I recently had a couple of issues that ended up being related to a Mass Air Sensor that had gone wonky on an intermittent basis. I had the MAS replaced on the right side (controls the left bank) and the car has settled down. The burning question.... should I also replace the other MAS at this time? I am not sure if the MAS is considered a "wear" item, or if they break down with time and use. The dealer tech indicated that he was actually suprised that the 2 units had gone this far without replacement (93 600sel, 200,000 km). Any guidance, insight will be greatly appreciated.
Thanx in advance Mithra
