Clunk in my suspension 300e

Hello Borad, I have an 87 300e that just will not stay quiet oveer speed bumps. No matter how slow I go over them there is a loud clunk that sounds like it is coming from the rear drivers side. It only happens when I go over speed bumps, but it sounds like my car is falling apart. Does annyone know what could be causing this noise?I checked my flex disks and they are not worn.Help.

Could the exhaust be hitting the speed bump? If not then I say check your sway bar links.

This can also be a thrust link in the rear suspension with bad bushings. Will also cause "torque steer" on heavy acceleration.

I've got to do both W124 soon....

I would also check the front sway arm supports and bushings. The support are notorious for breaking (MB has newer, stronger supports) and the bushings are notorious for squaking or getting loose (MB redesigned them too).
