OEM manufacturers

I've searched the forum but cannot find an answer. Does anyone know how to find out which manufacturers supply OEM parts for a given model and year?

For example, if I wanted to find out the OEM for my vacuum pump, how could I determine this without pulling the pump itself.

Many thanks in advance. This is one of the most useful sites on the net.
