Question Wood shifter for 190e?

I've been looking for a wood shifter for my '91 190e automatic. There are lots available on eBay, but mostly for different models MBs. Can shifters from different models and years MBs be a direct swap for the 1991 190e? If so which models and years.

Just as a sanity check, is it correct that the knob and metal shift rod are one piece with a (fine) threaded end on the rod? If I see a shifter like that is it safe to assume it will work.

TIA, D Stang

The one piece auto shifter from a W124 will fit. The shifter is a one piece unit. However, there are adapter shafts (performance products.com and slaccessories.com)for about $15 that replace the one piece unit and allow you to spin on the newer knob tops.
