Cleaning Fuel Injectors - 1978 280CE

Any advice/suggestions on cleaning fuel injectors on my 1978 280CE (175K) ? I've had my oil change shop clean fuel injectors on my '98 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with noticable results. Can this service help/harm an older engine like the MB 110? Thanks in advance.

Have you determined if the injectors are "dirty"? Using an injector cleaner with your fuel, like Chevron's Techron for a couple of tanks might help. How much would you get charged for a cleaning? New injectors are $24 each.
