help 94 S320 RPM wont get past 3,500

When you rev it up on park it wont get past 3,500 RPM. feels like engine is cutting off. Also check engine light went on and car now idles real bad. It misfires. took to a shop they saw that it needed egr valve and 02. replaced it and check engine light was fixed. But it is still cutting off over 3.5k rpm. ran the scanner and no codes. Replaced the throttle body sensor but still the same. Please help. thanks

RPM limiter for torque Converter protection..Normal in P & N...

Rev limit Test:
Drive above 5 mph and put it in 'N" ...you will now be able to rev engine .

thanks a new problem surfaced

thanks for the reply. another Question, after I reved it up while in N it did not cut off but the engine started misfiring. I pulled over and turned the car off. waited for a few seconds started it and engine is fine. drove it past 3500 rpm with the tranny engaged and same thing happened. I turned off the car and waited a few seconds and it ran fine. seems like when it reaches 3500 up it sets off something and once you turn the ignition off it resets itself. thanks in advance
