WHAT IS THE APPROXIMATE LIFE OF TIMING CHAIN IN 2.5 DIESEL IN 1986 190D. ALSO IS THEIR ANY ADJUSTMENT THAT CAN BE MADE TO SERPENTINE BELT TENSIONER AND HOW TO RELEASE FOR BELT REPLACEMENT? THANKS FOR SHARING THE INFO! THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO LEARN ABOUT MERCEDES BENZ.

The timing chains have been known to fail very early on these models.. If it has any more than 80k miles, I'd have it checked. 3 degrees is the limit on stretch. If it is out, install a new sprocket and chain, for they both have been updated.

Welcome. I expect that our city has the highest representation per capita of any city represented on this forum.

Of course, we don't have to tell everybody that Sumner, Texas has only a post office. We don't want to tell them that there is no store, gas station or anything like that in Sumner. But, there is a watertower.
