W126- How do I tighten my windshield wipers?

How do I tighten the windshield wipers on my 300SE? Neither of my windshield wipers are working and I know the reason is because they are loose. On most cars I know how to get to the nut to tighten, but I don't know how to get to it on this car. Is there a piece that is supposed to pop off? How do I get that off?

The wiper blades do not tighten themselves. There is a spring loaded arm that the blade assembly attaches to. Perhaps these have lost their strength? I've had to replace them for this reason.

No, I know what it is, the same thing happened on my 86 560 SEC. Towards the base of the arm the top should pop off just like many modern day cars but mine for some reason won't. The SE model does not do this????

There is a cap over the base of the arm. It pulls up. Underneath it is a 13mm nut. That comes off, then the arm is pulled VERY gently upwards in order to get the arm to come off the wiper gear. Raise the arm up slowly and not too far as the spring inside can snap in half and fly who knows where.

Bingo, but how do I get the cap up? I haven't had any success with it. Can I maybe pry it with a flathead or something? Neither will budge as easy as it was on my 560.
