I am thinking of painting my bumpers and side moldings the color of the car from the grey off-color that they currently look. Would the paint take to the bumper or should I order the molding from MB factory already colored?

I would strongly recommend against painting the panels. Just order correct replacements from MB. The paint usually won't adhere well and will look sloppy.
