Help!!! How do I remove dome light on W126?

Hi -

Does anyone here know how to remove the dome light assembly from a w126 (1989 560 SEL)? I am trying to test/clean the air intake for the climate control system, prefererably without busting anything. Neither the CD ROMS nor the search function on this web site yielded any hints...

Thanks,

Henry

removal of dome light

Henry,

When you are sitting in the drivers seat and look up to the dome light you will need to get a very small screwdriver. On the right edge of the dome light assembly there are 2 spring/clips that you will need to push in. They are close to the corners. You may be able to push the assembly to the left a little to get better access to the spring/clips. Once you push them in the assembly will be able to come out. Once you have it out you will see how it just pops back in.

Good luck,
Frank

I simply push the light to the right and pull down gently with my finger tips.
