SRS light on for 1 minute

Today I replaced 2 bulbs in the instrument cluster of my 1994 C220. Now the SLRS light stays on for about 1 minute and then goes out. I did a search on this topic and it seems that some say that if the ignition switch was turned on while the instrument panel was disconnected that the SRS light would do this. Do any of you have any advice for me? I enjoy this site and have learned a lot about my car here. thanks!

SRS Light

I have a similar issue on my 1994 S320 and the dealer says it is due to a seat belt sensor problem. I don't really believe that but I haven't found any other reason until seeing your instrument panel theory. As far as I know though, my instrument panel has never been out.

I've heard the same.

After pulling the cluster on my SL for bulb replacement, my SRS light started staying on for the one minute interval (when it used to go out briefly after starting).

I wonder if disconnecting the harness behind the cluster sets something else off. Hard to believe that there never is a problem until you pull the cluster.

Unfortunately, i have yet to fix the problem...
