I'm going to go buy some Mobil One to put in my car. Which one do I get? 10W-30?

Thanks in advance.

How often do you guys change that liquid gold?

I see so few oil related failures in MB engines that I consider this overkill. I hope you don't extend your oil change intervals to use Mobil 1. I change my wifes ML320's oil every 5k and currently am using a synthetic blend made by Valvoline at 10w30. The blend is about 50% more money than their top quality 20w50.

Have a an 2000 E320. Is anyone going to wait to the 10,000 mile mark before changing oil?

Okay, so we get the old oil conversation going.

I change oil every 3,000 miles in my old 240D that probably isn't worth $2,500. I change oil every 3,300 miles in my 300E that probably isn't worth $10,000. If I had a new car of any description that I laid out my hard earned money for, there's no way I'd go anywhere near 10,000 miles between changes regardless of the oil I was using. If you're only going to do one piece of preventive maintenance, change oil hot, and change oil often.

Good Luck,

I use Mobil One 15W/50 in my summer car and
Syntec 5W/50 it the winter car, both are 300SDs. I change both synthetic oils every 10K miles. The summer car, with 220K total miles, requires no additional oil between changes. I have been doing this for the last 110K miles I have owned the car. I have no earlier records. The winter car, 180K total, uses 2 quarts between changes but seems to be using less the more I drive it. I have been doing this for the last 20K miles.
I also use a PTFE additive of varios brands. If this routine did any damage to my engines, surly it would shown up by now. Both engines run excellent and start readily down to 10 degrees F. I say sheisen to more frequent oil changes.

PE Haidges,

Think how far it would go with frequent oil changes.
