Massive water accumulation..Please help

Hey guys,

Recently I noticed that the rear floor mat in my 95 S420 was getting wet...soaking wet. Today I pulled up the carpet and to my dismay found a good 1" of standing water in the channel of the drivers side footwell. The water is only one the drivers side. I have no edvidence of a leak...It is definitely coming from somewhere low. Any ideas??

My wild guess...

Look under the floor, on the bottomside, and be very sure that all of the rubber plugs are firmly seated in the undebody.. Or maybe with the carpet out, you can look from the top..

If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'll try to explain it better..

Thanks for the tip but this leak is from something

BIG... I did check the plugs though and they were all in place and draining correctly. I am really leaning toward a stopped up/broken AC drain line. any one seen this before on a W140?

Problem Resolved....You'll never guess

Or you might. I have had more things "broken" by the dealer than I have had actual car failures.

I had my S420 in the dealer about two weeks ago for a brake light switch replacement and apparently they knocked the evap. drain hose out of its hole in the body so it was draining directly into the cabin. It took so long to discover the water because the under carpet pad in this car is 8" thick in most areas.

Anyhow, I pulled all the carpet out and repaired the problem.

Very dissapointed with Mercedes service....Once again.
