Engine Idling to high Plz help! Emergency

Hello my 87' 420 SEL has been having some engine problems lately. When it is parked and the engine is on it be idleing at 1500rpm when it should be idling at around 650rpm. I dont know what could possibly be the problem. When I checked the engine compartment the choke remains closed. Please help for any tips and suggestions.
