Replacement of dist. cap & rotor

I will be replacing the Radiator, valve cover gasket and resealing upper chain cover on my wifes 88 TE (103) next week. I am considering replacing dist. cap & rotor also. They have at least 50k on them. I looked at them both last evening. The 3 contacts on the cap and the contact on the rotor look burned but otherwise they seem in good condition. What is the typical reccommended replacement interval?

I will probably just replace them for good measure.

Thanks,

Ed C.

Well in this case I would say: "if it ain't broke don't fix it... just clean the copper contact points up". Especially if you have genuine mercedes parts on the car now.
