I had a locked ignition problem on a 94 C280, after pulling the ignition out of the car and unjamming it, I re-installed it in the vehicle. The ignition now works but the starter will not dis-engage. There are two connections on the bottom of the ignition- one is for the buzzer and the other is????I cant seem to find a connection anywhere under the dash. Does this second connection have anything to do with the starter?

I also (obviously) unhooked all the connections at the back of the ignition, would mixing a couple of wires when re-installing be the cause of the starter not disengaging? or maybee I damaged the ignition when unjamming it and thats the cause of my problem. Please Help-Very frustrated.

Ok, you have the same exact car that I do.

While you're looking for help, help me:

I occassionally have to apply pressure to my gas pedal in order to get the car up and starting. It will start on its own, but that means I'd be sitting there for a while holding the key and waiting for it to turn over. To the contrary, when I push the gas pedal down some, it starts right up.

Any thoughts on the culprit? Please. Thanks!

It sounds like your throttle may be out of adjustment. If it is then you will need a service manual to set it correctly.

Mac ... you got yourself into a pickle. You are going to need a wiring diagram or another like model car to check your wiring...

Could be that the armature is not dis-engageing, due to a short, rust etc.
Or, if you have connected the wrong wires in the ignition plug, this would cause it to happen also, I replied to your other post, If you send year of vehicle I will try to find the wire diagram.
