Cool Lifter repaclement/Chain&Tensioner

Would like some info on replacing lifters and chain on a 89 420 SEL. 155K on motor, have some ticking at times on initalstartup, missing under accelartaoin and some times at constant speed on hi-way. I had two lifter repalced about a month ago with the same simptoms, this repalcement elimated the problem, but problem is back, seems to be only on drivers side of engine. Thanks for the info.

I used Thomaspin's site for my chain replacement...'bout the best resource you can have. You can also do a search on this topic...countless posts have been written on this. If you replace the lifters or "cam followers" in MB speak, from what I hear if you replace them, you have to replace all of them AND the cams. Someone else here more knowledgable can confirm or deny this. But I don't think that the cam followers would lead to it missing.....am I right? You may have other problems, such as ignition components or fuel injection system. Let us know what happens.
