Model Number Question
I stopped at a used car dealership this afternoon to look at a MB coupe and something stuck me as being odd.
The car is listed as a 1994 and badged E320. Now because it's a coupe, shouldn't the rear badge say CE, as in 320CE? Or is it possible the badge is wrong and it's a 300CE? Anyways, the car is definatly a coupe I did not notice any Sportline badges, does the '94 have the Sportline suspention or was that an option? Cheers for now EADG 91 300E |

MB Model designations
The designation scheme for U.S. Mercedes-Benz models was changed effective with the 1994 model year. The designation "E320" was used for all the E-class models with that engine. The previous suffixes of "CE" and "TE" were eliminated. Instead the cars were referred to as "E320 Coupe," etc.
The Sportline package was an option on the coupe and sedan. Try this link to the MBUSA web site for reference info on E Class models up to 15 years ago: http://www.mbusa.com/brand/container.jsp?/overview/overview_engine.jsp&yearModelCode=88_D300&class=88_E&rnav=024568&subNav=overview&menu=2_1&spec=2&category=0
