95 E320 outside rear door handle loose ...

Searched through the threads ..... couldn't find the answer-

What holds 95 E320 rear outside door handle? The forward part of the handle is loose. I have the inside door panel off but I don't see a bolt or screw to tighten.

Anybody been here and done this?

Thanks in advance,

Haasman

Haasman,

I believe the attaching screw is in the door jamb. It's been a while since I've messed with one but I think there's a rubber cover or plug to remove in order to gain access to a set screw(?).

You prise out the door sealing rubber to expose this hole (right hand side shown)

if your handle is like the s-class...

i had mine come right off last year .it's only held in with one screw-torx type, don't know size.that pic of the seal is exactly where you need to go.get a LONG screwdriver(torx)-or thin head flat blade.if you have the hanle off you must have the handle 'open' when reinstalling.it will fit into a slot and then you'll seat and slide it forward and then back towards the seal hole.put some loctite on the threads of the screw
