W126 91 300SE Loctite for cross member?

The shop that rebuilt the transmission of my 91 300SE used blue thread locking compound on the bolts of the crossmember that spans the guide rod mounts. There's nothing in the W126 CD manual about using thread lock on these bolts. Should I use thread lock when I put the bolts back on?

Thanks,
Sixto

Sixto:

I've had mine off several times when draining the converter. The maint. manual says to replace the 6 bolts whenever removed.

I never have. As a matter of fact, I put a light coat of anti-seize compound on them in order to facilitate removal the next time around.

Sixto,

The guide rod mount kit comes with 3 new crossmember bolts per side. I recall the new bolts had a bead of blue locktight on them.

Ah, so that's why it doesn't say to use thread locking compound. I think the bolts that hold the steering box to the frame are the same way. Thanks.
